Okay so I have been waiting for Jerry to move all the pictures from one computer to the other to back them up on the hard drive. It is done so I could load some pictures off the camera. This was a couple Saturdays ago. The project for the day. I have been thinking about this for months. I bought this piece of furniture while Jerry was on his mission and it was one of the first things I bought. So you could say it is special to me. I had come to terms with cutting it apart or down which ever word you want to use. Then Clair came over and asked if I was sure that made me question it all. I should have gotten a picture of the before I look for one. We have many years of pictures with it. We begun by taking the stuff out and doors off. and the back panel off as well. Then we flipped it on its side.
The finished product. We even used the shelves that use to be in the glass part and made shelves behind each of those doors. It looks great you would never know that it was any different than the way it looks now. My husband did an amazing job and his idea worked I'm so glad. I'm glad Clair was there to help!

I'm sorry you had to cut apart a treasure. I would have been sad too, but it seriously looks fantastic!
Wow, it turned out amazing you have quite the handy man!!!
It looks pretty incredible! I totally understand the love for furniture! I am very much like that! But it looks great!
Grandpa and Jerry did a great job, It looks good.
It turned out really good, but I totally understand how you felt. I have to leave the room whenever Scott is "fixing" something, or even driving a nail into the wall! And look at all the orbs in the last picture! Maybe they are the spirits of the entertainment center, or the happy memories it left behind. Or maybe you just have ghosts in your house.
I kept going from picture to picture to see if it really was the same thing! So cool!
Why did you change it? Not that it doesn't look great, it does. Are you getting a big screen T.V. to put on top?
